Shabbat Appreciation for Environment and Beth Liberman

Rabbi Shana Margolin will lead this service. The parsha is about caring for the land, and Paul Markowitz will speak about climate action. Plus an oneg appreciation for Beth Liberman.

In connection with this week's parsha Behar, Paul will talk about ways to combat climate change.  Through his work at Efficiency Vermont, Paul is helping to spread the word about energy efficiency and what folks can do to save energy. He will talk about the numerous environmental mitzvot and share ideas for how each of us can take individual action to reduce our carbon footprints.  An information table will be set up and attendees will have an opportunity to sign up for a free home energy visit from an Efficiency Vermont energy expert to learn about ways to save energy in your home.

Beth Jacob Synagogue has joined Vermont Interfaith Power and Light, which is partnering with Efficiency Vermont to help raise awareness around environmental issues facing the U.S.

Also, we will honor Beth Liberman at an oneg after the service.  She has been a wonderful Hebrew School and Programming Director for our synagogue. We wish her well as she prepares to take on a new position at JCOGS (the Jewish Community fo Greater Stowe).
